Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida District Council was formed in 2005, has nearly 400 members, and is one of the fastest growing listrict councils in the Southeast. Its mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.

The Northeast Florida Regional Council (NEFRC) is a network of local governance, serving seven counties – Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns – and their 27 municipalities. Regional planning councils are authorized by Florida statutes, with 11 regional planning councils in the state of Florida. The Regional Community Institute of Northeast Florida, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) corporation charged with providing regional leadership and coordination between all stakeholders to preserve and enhance the quality of Northeast Florida’s natural, man-made, economic and social environment.

The Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership facilitates the creation and retention of quality jobs and significant capital investment, resulting in a higher standard of living and a better quality of life in Northeast Florida. A division of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, Cornerstone works in partnership with the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission; JEA; the regional county partners - Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns; WorkSource; JAXPORT; Jacksonville Aviation Authority; Jacksonville Transportation Authority and 200 top private-sector investor corporate entities in the Jacksonville area.

The St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) is responsible for managing groundwater and surface water supplies in all or part of 18 counties in Northeast and East-Central Florida. It embraces as its mission, ensuring the sustainable use and protection of water resources for the benefit of the people of the District and the state of Florida. The SJRWMD is dedicated to implementing a regional strategy to provide sufficient water for users and the environment; protecting and improving surface water resources; preventing increases in flooding and maintain the District’s regional flood control projects; and providing for organizational structure and tools that result in and reward continuous improvement and enhanced service delivery.

The North Florida Transportation Planning Organization provides a regional forum for developing an effective transportation system that moves people and goods safely, economically and efficiently while maintaining a high quality of life in Northeast Florida.

The St. Johns River Alliance (SJRA) became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2004. Governed by a regional, 28 member Board of Directors that includes elected officials, agencies, citizens and businesses, the SJRA represents 310 miles of Florida's river that uniquely flows north. The mission of the SJRA is to preserve, protect, promote, restore and celebrate the St. Johns River. In 1998, the St. Johns River was designated as one of 14 rivers in the United States as an "American Heritage River" in recognition of its ecological, historic, economic, recreational and cultural significance, so that the public may gain a greater appreciation and understanding of the river's importance to the quality of life for current and future generations.
